Cleaning both shoes and boots can cause us more than one headache, either because we don’t achieve the perfection we crave or because the product we normally use has run out and we don’t know what alternative to turn to. For this reason, we are going to provide a series of easy-to-prepare home tricks so that footwear looks as impeccable as possible.
Clean shoes with home remedies
- To clean and shine our shoes, especially if they are made of leather, without having to spend an exorbitant amount of money on specific products, we just have to have eggs and Vaseline at home. We must put the white of an egg in a container, add a small amount of Vaseline and mix well until we obtain a kind of cream. We clean the shoes well with a cloth to remove dust or any residue that may have adhered. Immediately afterward -by using a cloth, a piece of cotton, or a brush- we spread the substance resulting from the previous mixture all over the surface of the shoe and let it dry completely. Finally, we must pass a cloth to make them shiny.
- The banana skin is another homemade solution that can help us face the task of cleaning our shoes and leaving them shiny. To do this, we must rub the entire surface of the shoe that we intend to polish and then clean the remains with a dry cloth. It is an especially effective remedy for skin or leather. In the same way, we can apply a few drops of olive oil on the surface of the shoe and rub it gently with a cloth.
- Orange juice can become another great homemade alternative to specific shoe and boot cleaning products. To do this, we only need the juice of half an orange, a substance that we can apply directly to the surface of the shoe. Another option is to cut a potato in half and rub the leather of the shoe with it so that we can efficiently remove any stain that may have been generated.
