How was the study done?
A study carried out by researchers from the University of Kansas (USA) and published in the Journal of Research in Personality has shown that our personality is reflected 90% in our shoes. The team worked with sixty-three students who were shown more than two hundred and eight photographs of the shoes of volunteers who had previously taken a personality test. From the photographs of the shoes, the observers were able to determine with relative precision whether the person was liberal or conservative, extroverted or introverted. if he was emotionally stable, as well as his level of sympathy, insecurity, anxiety, and isolation, among other characteristics. They even managed to discover his social level and income.
The results
- The study revealed that those who wear high-top shoes tend to be more unpleasant and find it difficult to form intimate relationships. If they wear ankle boots it means that their personality is aggressive. When it comes to color, different colored shoes reveal a calm and outgoing personality. On the other hand, conscientious and serious people wore shoes that, although not new, is very clean and well-preserved. These people also tend to show more anxiety when an intimate relationship ends, as they show that they are more concerned about appearances and the image that others form of them.
